Credentials and Experience
If you have completed formal study, let us know where you studied, the degree or diploma you received, etc.
If you did not take formal training, please write a little about how you learned your art form.
Have you worked with children? In this section, we just want a little information about the environment you worked in, the age ranges, etc. Not specific workshops or course descriptions (i.e. led week long art workshops for children aged 10 - 12, mentored high school students, etc)
We do need you to list two references, even if you've been a PAINTS artist in the past. The committee members may not have direct knowledge of you and your work, and the references can really help them get a better sense of you, so we need them, just in case.
Workshops and Areas of Interest
This section is so important, both for the review committee and for the teachers when they look for artists on the website. In 200-250 words, describe what you can bring to the school; specific workshops, or ideas are helpful. You might describe your own art practice a little bit, and then talk about how you might bring that into the classroom. Think about writing this part in a conversational style.
This and your bio are the schools' introduction to you and what you can bring to their school community.
For Areas of Expertise, check all appropriate boxes.
Grade level
Check all that apply.
Geographic Region
We encourage schools to seek out artists in their home community, but in special circumstances, we can provide funding for travel. For PAINTS, we are using the tourism divisions of the province. Please click in your home community, and on any other areas of the map that you're willing/able to work in.
Bio (50 - 100 words)
This bio is for the review committee and the schools. Please tailor your bio with the schools and teachers foremost in mind. It's a way for them to get a glimpse of your art practice and history. If you want to go with one you currently use, that's great, as long as the word count fits.
