Frequently Asked Questions

What if the artist that we want to work with isn't on the PAINTS database?
If you know an artist in your community that you want to work with, encourage them to apply to be a PAINTS artist. There is no fee, and any professional artist who is a member of VANS or the NSDCC is eligible. The deadlines for the PAINTS Artist Review panels are May 1st and December 1st, but artists can submit at any time to be considered in the next review.
Are there any art projects thatcan't be supported by PAINTS?
PAINTS is a great program, but it has it's size and scope.
PAINTS does not support seasonal art projects (i.e. Haloween, Christmas, Kwanza, etc). Also, it is rare for a mural project to be a fit for PAINTS, due to the budget and time contstraints.
How do I claim the materials amount from PAINTS?
As soon as you have all of the receipts gathered from your project, you can submit them for reimbursement of up to the amount granted.
It generally takes about 2 weeks to receive reimbursement.
As soon as you have all of the receipts gathered from your project, you can submit them for reimbursement of up to the amount granted. If you were granted $50 and spent $60, then your school would receive $50 back. If you were granted $50 and spent $45, you would receive $45 back. We need either the receipts themselves or a photocopy.
Please note: If the artist or teacher has paid for the supplies out of pockect, it is expected that the school will reimburse them on the first day of the project and that the school will receive the payment from PAINTS.
